Early Interventionist
Hi there! My name is Katie Thompson and I am an Early Intervention Specialist here at Bright Start in Charleston. I am originally from Lake Norman which is right outside of Charlotte, NC. I received my Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders at Appalachian State University. I have wanted to live in the Charleston area for as long as I can remember. I also knew I wanted to be working with children who were a part of the special needs community. I developed a strong passion for working with individuals with different forms of developmental disabilities in my previous job as a private caretaker for an individual who changed my life in numerous ways. Helping others recognize their strengths, find their confidence, and encourage constant growth is something that I am always striving to achieve. Being presented with the opportunity to get to do just that every day at Bright Start is something that I am beyond grateful for.
